Cinema Verite (3/3)

My final video turned out pretty good, not as good as I would have wanted it to be though, but I think it's okay for being my first video. My video is about this idea of dreaming and waking up from a dream. The video starts with a door opening to see sky and birds, then it moves into different clips of different places, and at the end the door starts closing as flashbacks of the different places previously seen are shown.

Cinema Verite (2/3)

The first day I started working with Final Cut Pro to edit my video went pretty well and it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I managed to favorite all the parts of my different clips that I wanted to use for my final video as well as change the speed of the clip and add tittles. After getting all the clips that I wanted to use, I went ahead and added a song so that the clips would change to the rhythm of the song. And some of the final touches were adding effects and transitions.

Cinema Verite (1/3)

I think this was a really interesting project because I have never worked with video nor any video editing software before. The hardest thing for me was deciding what to film and coming up with ideas of what to shoot. So instead of overthinking, I decided to film things that I found to be interesting to me. For example, I filmed the sky for 20 minutes to see the movement of the clouds, I filmed the trees outside my house through my window changing the focus of the camera, I filmed what appeared to be stairs going down into the river, and I filmed more trees and lots of nature clips.

Narrative Project Part 2 - Final Image (3/3)

For my final composite, I decided to create a world in which my brother would love to live in. My brother as well as my dog are both flying in a cloud while it's raining legos. I decided to incorporate red and blue legos to keep the image balanced and keep the color scheme consistent. I was originally going to incorporate a yellow lego but this was taking all the emphasis away from the rest of the image. The snow was pretty easy to blend with the cloud since these have almost the same visual texture. I think this was a really fun project and I really like how my composite turned out.

Narrative Project Part 2 - Work in Progress (2/3)

Since I didn't like the photo I was using initially to create my narrative, I decided to use some of the first photographs I took and create something more interesting. 1 2 1+2

Narrative Project Part 2 - First Attempt (1/3)

The second part of our narrative project was to create a different narrative using some of our original photographs and manipulating them in Photoshop. Basically, we had to create a whole different story in which fantasy was the main theme. The image below shows my first attempt in creating a fantasy narrative. For this particular photo, I wanted to have a city emerging from the water and shrink my brother to make it look like he was just entering or discovering a world of giants. However, I didn't really like how it was turning out so I decided to stop there and use another photograph.

Narrative Photography - Final Photo (4/4)

This is the photo I have chosen to represent my entire narrative. It was a bit difficult to get my photos to be "perfect" especially because I have not mastered my skills with the aperture and shutter speed settings and because my brother would not stay still, but I tried my best to get at least good photos. Also, it was kind of hard to decide for just one photo because there were a couple that I really liked, but I finally decided for the one below especially because it shows my brother's curiosity for exploring the natural world around him :)
