Getting Started with Illustrator

Last week in class, we learned how to create shapes using the Shape Builder tool, how to manipulate shapes using individual anchor points, and how to create compound shapes utilizing the Pathfinder tool :)

Helvetica Film

Helvetica is a film that explores the reasons why Helvetica has been the most used typeface in the design field. I wasn't aware of this typeface up until my Technical Writing class where my professor explained that Helvetica was the preferred typeface of most designers. I knew Helvetica was the name of a font, but I didn't know this was used in almost everywhere where text is required such as company logos, advertisements, legal documents, etc. The Helvetica film made it clearer for me to see why most designers prefer Helvetica over any other typeface available out there. In the film, it is discussed that Helvetica is most used because it is a more official, clean, and efficient typeface than any other. It is neutral because it doesn't show anything other than simplicity. For example, it was also mentioned how Helvetica is an inviting typeface because it doesn't give the feeling of danger that other fonts would, instead it gives people a feeling of calmness. ...
